Agave's 109
About This Spot
Walking into Agave's 109 in Gallatin feels like stepping into a warm, welcoming corner of Mexico right in the heart of Tennessee. The air hums with quiet energy—not loud or hurried, but lively enough to carry the subtle chatter of families and friends savoring their meals. It’s the kind of place where servers greet you with genuine smiles and take a moment to make sure you truly feel at ease, setting the tone for a meal that’s as much about comfort as it is about flavor.
The atmosphere here strikes an inviting balance: festive yet relaxed, with bright yet homey touches that create a space both familiar and a little special. You might notice the fresh aroma of tortillas warming or catch the faint hint of smoky chiles as they prepare dishes crafted with care and attention to authentic ingredients. The space moves at a comfortable pace where each plate is a small discovery, rich with vibrant colors and thoughtful combinations, making every bite feel like a celebration without fuss or pretense.
From the start, there’s a spirit of heartfelt hospitality that threads through the experience. Whether you’re sharing hand-rolled tacos or savoring the cozy comfort of a burrito filled with savory, tender meats and topped with fresh guacamole, the food invites you to pause and enjoy a genuine taste of Mexican traditions infused with local warmth. The kitchen’s touches—like a homemade enchilada sauce or a not-so-secret chile verde—feel like little treasures for those who love to explore flavors beyond the usual.
Agave's 109 isn’t just about food; it’s about the small, human moments that make dining out meaningful—the friendly nod from a server who remembers your favorite drink, the easy laughter around a table crowded with friends, or the calm reassurance of a clean, bright space where you can simply settle in. It’s a spot where the simple pleasure of a well-made margarita and fresh, crispy chips becomes part of a broader story of connection, comfort, and shared joy.
For those craving a genuine local Mexican experience in Middle Tennessee, Agave's 109 offers a pace and a place that invites you to slow down, savor, and maybe even find a new favorite dish along the way.

Wow!! Finally found our Mexican spot in the area. Moved here 2 yrs ago from the West Coast and are very picky about good Mexican. Chips are crispy and the salsa is excellent, service friendly and quick. The enchilada sauce is homemade and the margaritas are great. If you haven’t tried this place please do and send your friends. Ask for the chile verde not on the menu but they can make it. My 16 yr old son loves it too!

I had a beef entree, and a happy hour margarita. The staff was attentive, and the food arrived hot. The chips, and salsa were fresh. My husband had a chicken dish. Which I guess wasn't as good as mine. Even though It was the same dish only It was made with chicken. I would go back again, another time for another entree. Delisioso!

I enjoyed the chimichanga (cheese on the side), and my husband enjoyed the mixed fajitas. Everything was delicious and if we're ever on this side of town again, we'll definitely be back. Service was attentive and prompt. Their spicy salsa (not the regular one) is absolutely delicious

Came in for the first time the other day. Service was prompt, helpful, and consistent, food warm and tasty, and the drink specials may be some of the best in town, with plenty of TVs for game days. With competitive prices, and specials available all day, Agave’s (under new management) is a solid 2nd location for the Casa Agave team, and I look forward to seeing what they do with this space in the future. Update — Alan and his team have continued making this what is probably the best Mexican restaurant in town, and one of the best restaurants around as well, especially for price. The portions & quality make the food an excellent value proposition, on a cold night in particular, and the drinks are better than ever. The service is better than ever, too; Geo, Citlaly, Val, Veronica, and the rest of Alan’s team really give their all to provide guests a pleasant experience. The place is clean, well-lit, very handicap accessible, and has plenty of TVs with any and every game day. Having visited many a Mexican spot in my days as a Texan, I am consistently impressed with the quality of food, drinks, and service. The reasonable pricing, especially for the portions, and the generous happy hour makes Agaves an easy spot to keep on coming back to for well-priced food / drink around Gallatin.
